About George A. Aschenbrenner
Fr. Aschenbrenner is a strikingly clear and inspiring speaker. He is know as an expert in directing the exercises and as an authority on forms of spirituality. He is the author of the Annual Survey of Spirituality Trends for five years in Review for Religious. He has authored many now classic articles in Theological Studies, Sisters Today, The Way, Human Development, and Review for Religious. He is also the author of the 1984 book, A God for a Dark Journey, published by Dimension Books. He has been the director of novices for the Jesuit Maryland province for ten years. Since 1979, he has organized and administered talks, retreats, and workshops for religious, priests, and lay groups in the United States and Europe. He was the assistant to the Academic Vice President and pastoral work with faculty and staff at St. Joseph's University, Philadelphia, and University, Scranton, Pennsylvania. As of 1985, Fr. Aschenbrenner has been the director of the spiritual-formation program for seminarians at the United States the North Americ an College in Rome.
